The Spirit of Play - A Music Jamming Workshop
Friday, July 24 from 5PM to 10PM - $60
This evening introduces musicians of all levels to the discipline of focused, intentional play. It’s full of paradoxes: what you’re playing has to feel like the most important thing you’ve ever done, yet you have to be ready to stop playing at any moment, if that’s not what the music wants. We learn to tune into the field of relationship, be in the moment, and make musical choices that playfully express relationship to others. It’s great for folks who don’t feel comfortable in jams, and also great for wicked experienced folks who want to better host spaces of play and understand the subtle dynamics.

We will start the event with somatic practices, improv games and jamming, before transitioning into an open mic on our little green stage.

Firebird feelings lab (mothers and babies circle up for council and conscious feelings practices with Em) in main house, and Play time (papa Jimi holds free play and games with the kids, ages 3 and up) in the forested backyard and learning center!
